Couples therapy for relationships facing ongoing conflict, disconnection, betrayal, intimacy concerns, or uncertainty about what comes next.
Relationships can get stuck in patterns that are difficult to change on your own. The same argument happens again. One person pushes while the other withdraws. Resentment builds. Intimacy changes. Or something happens that leaves you questioning the future of the relationship. At Semillas Counseling , we help couples understand what keeps happening between them-and begin doing something different.
We help couples understand the patterns driving their conflict, recognize what happens beneath their reactions, and practice responding to one another differently. The goal isn't simply to have fewer arguments-it's to create a relationship in which both partners can show up more honestly, responsibly, and connected.
Relationships rarely become difficult because one person simply needs to “communicate better.” The patterns that develop between people are often shaped by attachment, past experiences, stress, identity, family dynamics, and the ways each person has learned to protect themselves. We help clients slow these patterns down, understand what is happening beneath them, and develop more intentional ways of responding to themselves and the people who matter most.
While relationship work is central to our practice, we also recognize that meaningful change often begins with the individual. Our therapists work with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity, life transitions, and other concerns that can affect both personal well-being and relationships.
Whether you come to therapy individually, with a partner, or as a family, our goal is to help you better understand what keeps you stuck and create meaningful, sustainable change.
Our therapists receive ongoing training in evidence-informed approaches to individual and relationship therapy. Our work is active, collaborative, and tailored to the needs of each client or couple rather than built around a single model of therapy.
From relationship counseling to trauma recovery, our team brings the knowledge and care you need to feel supported and empowered every step of the way.
One must be vigilant and mindful of how current and residual racism has impacted our friends, our family, and our community.
Racism often plays a common denominator among the injustice that so many individuals have experienced. Despite the progress of the civil rights movement and public discourse, racism continues to influence systems, oppressing and dominating people’s lives, social structure, and institutions.
Semillas Counseling PLLC supports the Black Lives Matter movement. We recognize, painfully, the destruction that racial inequities have had on every level of society. Such injustices and inequalities have directly impacted the safety, health, mental health, and well-being of countless individuals, families, and communities.
We hope that we, and the world, can be a place that affirms and honors the individual you are.
