OUT-OF-NETWORK INFORMATION:

In the event your insurance is not listed above as in-network, we suggest contacting your insurance company to determine if you could be reimbursed for our services as an out-of-network provider. 

When contacting your insurance to verify your benefits you may wish to ask the questions below.

• Do I have mental health benefits 
• Do I have a deductible, and if so, how much is it?
• Do I have a copay or coinsurance?
• Does my insurance plan cover individual therapy, family therapy, or group therapy?
• How much will my policy reimburse me for out-of-network mental health services?
• What is the allotted amount reimbursed for each service type?
• Do I need a pre-authorization or a doctor’s approval before I receive any services?

If you elect to use out-of-network benefits, we will charge our full-fee and our office will provide you, upon your request, a super-bill so that you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company. 

OUT-OF-POCKET PAYMENT:

Do you wish to pay fees privately or out-of-pocket?

From time to time, some clients elect to not involve insurance companies for their counseling services. Paying out-of-pocket for therapy sessions prevents your treatment from being limited by a mental health diagnosis, treatment plan, or a set number of sessions.  Some policies do not cover individual, couples/relational or family therapy. 

Additionally, a diagnosis is needed when utilizing insurance for counseling services, which also becomes part of your permanent health record.  Insurance companies have full right to all your records. Unfortunately, certain mental health diagnoses may carry a stigma and can be utilized in the future to  justify decisions related to life insurance policies, as well as security screenings for certain employers. 

For clients who elect to pay out-of-pocket, a Good Faith Estimate will be provided in compliance with the "No Surprise Act," a new federal law that went into effect on January 1, 2022.
