Shane Mehta is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
Shane strives to create a supportive, non-judgmental and collaborative environment for her clients to help them overcome any challenges they may be facing. She works from a client-centered approach with the belief that everyone has the capacity towards growth and healing. As a therapist, her role is to create a safe space to build upon a client’s existing strengths and to increase self-awareness, as well as to provide new tools and insight. Shane doesn’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy, and uses a combination of strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, mindfulness and motivational techniques in her counseling to tailor each session to each individual’s unique needs.
Shane received her Bachelors in Psychology from The University of Pennsylvania, and her Master’s degree in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University with a focus on multicultural counseling. She has over 7 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults needing support for a wide variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem and life transitions.
